Title: Tragic Incident of Domestic Violence Shakes Abuja: Remembering Ogechi John

Today I come with a heartbreaking story that has left the Bwari community in Abuja in shock and grief. It is about Ezeagu John, a resident of Bwari, who allegedly strangled his wife, Ogechi John, to death.

As if that wasn't enough, he then hid their five children from his family. It is truly a harrowing story of domestic violence that horrified everyone.

Ogechi John was a talented optometry graduate from Imo State University from Umuariam Obowo. She was not only a loving wife, but also a devoted mother of five children. Sadly, her life was tragically cut short at his marital home in Abuja. Reportedly, she had visited her family in Jos just before this horrific incident happened.

Following this devastating event, the family of Okeke from Obowo Local Government Area in Imo State took action. They wrote a petition to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, urging him to personally oversee the investigation into their daughter's murder. The family demands justice for Ogechi, hoping that the responsible party will be held accountable for this heinous act of violence.

I believe bringing attention to such tragic incidents is crucial to raising awareness about domestic violence and its devastating consequences.

It is disheartening to know that so many lives are affected every day by such violence. We must unite and raise our voice against domestic violence, support those who suffer and advocate for change.
