Think of plugins as those nifty Chrome extensions you love. Just as Google does not create all extensions, OpenAI does not create these plugins. They're created by third-party developers, but they need to connect to ChatGPT to work their magic.


What's great about plugins is that they extend the capabilities of ChatGPT. You can still use ChatGPT as usual, but now you can ask it more specific questions related to a particular plugin.


However, there is a bit of caution here. OpenAI does not control these plugins, so you should be careful which ones you install. Do your research and only trust reputable plugins. Just like Chrome's Web Store, some malware can sneak in.


To get started with plugins, navigate to the "GPT-4" tab, click on "Plugins (beta)" and explore the "Plugins store". There are a lot of choices, but you can focus on the "popular" ones to start.


Remember that you can install multiple plugins, but only three can be actively running at the same time. This is because plugins are contextual and ChatGPT decides when to use them based on your queries.

PERFECT PROMPT: Improves ChatGPT responses by refining your prompts.


SPEAK: A language lover's dream, it translates sentences and provides sample conversations.


INSTACART: Why use an app when ChatGPT can order your groceries? This will create a list for your shopping without stress


KAYAK: Plan your trips by asking ChatGPT to find you the perfect hotel.


VIDEO INSIGHTS: Summarizes Internet videos and provides statistics such as view count and upload date.


LINK READER: does the same thing as Video Insights but for articles and PDFs.


These plugins are just a glimpse of the incredible possibilities that ChatGPT can offer.
